Considerations for air-conditioning new detached, attic less garage

In the planning stages for new build. I plan the following:
336 sq ft garage with workspace and storage in Fort Worth, TX (gets over 100F for weeks in summer)
mini-split, house wrap, insulation (thinking foam panels), insulated garage door
slant roof, concrete floor, wood or hardiplank siding.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on things I should be considering. This is my first construction project. I am designing the building from scratch and am working with a general contractor to handle the actual construction.

Lots of electric receptacles, side mount door opener? 110v minisplit?

The receptacles will need to be in the right place for the door opener. You’ll need power pulled into the right place for the minisplit too. For 336 sq ft, a 110v minisplit will be fine. Sub panel in the garage?

Most of the heat will come from the roof. You need some SERIOUS insulation up there ! Minimum 6". 12" would be better if possible.

If you do proper wind sheer bracing on the side walls, you don't need structural sheeting, just rigid foam panels under the siding.

6” walls? You can run the minisplit wiring and piping inside the walls. I did and it looks so much cleaner.

As mentioned, focus on roof deck insulation. Zip-R is a great product, but it can be reproduced by using foam panels to some degree. That isn't enough insulation for TX through. My go-to is spray foam, but it's not the least expensive product per R value. Insulating the roof deck itself may be some labor, something made easy via spray foam.

Hardi is great.. Do it once and be done. Consider hardi or PVC trim instead of wood.

One mistake a see people make is that they don't slope the garage enough for it to drain or forget to drop the concrete 1" for that garage door. And drive outside the garage can't be totally flat, watch where your water is going to go... Because it's going to go there and you want it away from the structure.
