It seemed like what he was trying to say was that if you were looking for a HF box that was 1099, this sears one at 50% off seems like a very well built alternative.

I'm seeing the same. This is the sale price which brings it to the same as the HF's 'regular' price. Makes it worth considering if shopping the HF at that price.

Like jakemac said, the Craftsman is only 18” deep. The HF 72” is 22 5/16” deep. Same price.

only 18" depth, better looking at masterforce 24" depth models or go napa and look at homak rs pro series . personally I would buy 2 40 or 50" boxes over 1 72" as far easier transport/move and can mix up overall length and drawer layouts plus it not expensive.
Plenty used truck boxes in 50" range too ...

At only 18" deep, I would keep looking.. Sale price, 4 Sail price, or whatever, the "chopped off" drawers have allot to be desired in a tool box that wide.

It's so long it makes it seem like it's only 12" deep, I had to grab a tape measure off the shelf to convince myself it was as deep as my standard bottom box.

The HF box weighs 528. Craftsman 420. That tells me the HF box is heavier duty. Says it will hold more weight also. The only thing I don't like is only 4 castors. I would buy 2 extra swivel castors, put the 4 swivel castors on the corners and the straight ones in the center to help support the weight. Just my take on it.

Buy one 41" and one 46" masterforce and you got 8 casters, more depth, 15" more length, good drawer variety, more rigidity plus proper grip latch drawers and better transport/moving logistics .

Griplatch is a millions times better than any type of drawer latch/detent system... but I don't know that I'd go with the craftsman over the harbor freight.

That plastic will break in no time at all and then the drawers will be opening if moved and/or a disaster waiting to happen.

GRIP latch metal/metal is the best way on the drawers. Got an older box with grip latch USA made been hauled all over with 12+ years of use - NO issues.

Last I checked our Snap On classic has plastic latches... just sayin
