I have a 16x30 third car garage that I use for my weekend toys. Right now the floor is bare concrete but I am considering going with some RaceDeck FreeFlow tiles in the spring when the weather is nice enough for me to move the car, cabinets, toolboxes, etc. out and install the flooring.
Since I have plenty of time, I am wanting to solicit ideas/opinions from users who have gone down this path already. I live in Kansas where the weather gets really hot in the summer, really cold in the winter and is not humid at all. Since this garage is used for my weekend toys, I'm not too concerned with snow melt off, but I am an avid detailer and will wash the car in the garage weekly with no-rinse washes and the car will be pulled in the garage dripping wet from traditional hose washes. These are the main reasons I'm leanings towards the FreeFlow tiles.
Because of the layout of this garage, it is mostly separated from the main two car garage. I will attach some pictures so you can see the layout. Basically, there is an 8 foot opening between the main garage and the third car garage. I will run an edge piece along the 8 foot opening and also along the 10 foot garage door. There will be a noticeable divide between the two garages so I don't think it will look bad at all.
Anyways, on to the pics. Ignore the cars in the photos... the Jeep is what I owned when I finished the garage and I traded it in for the ZL1. I took these pictures of the cars, not of the garage, so they're not the best... but I think they will give you an idea of the layout anyways. There is a very slight slope to the floor.
I'm thinking of going with a two tile deep black outer border, then a two tile deep red frame and fill the middle with graphite. I don't want it to look too busy. Any ideas/suggestions that will make the install easier or better looking?
I've already been in contact with Ashley at RaceDeck and she has sent some information and samples out to me in the mail today.
