can anyone provide help with wiring this 4 pole contactor?
I am I right to assume the A1 & A2 contacts ( in the lower picture ) are for the coil that pulls the contact closed ? and the blue wire attached to A1 is feeing the coils ? so I need to complete the circuit by using A2 to the other leg ( 240volts)
for the feed I can use any of 2 of the contacts L1, L2, L3?
Thanks

one issue with that. the coil is rated for 220v 50hz which is why you see the neutral in the diagram

there is no neutral on a 240v circuit in the US or Canada

the coil may work on 240v 60hz but could cause some issues.

you would connect both lines to A1/A2 no neutral.

This isn’t on a lathe is it? This looks a lot like a contactor on a lathe that my buddy got that needed to be completely rewired because the motor got replaced

Your drawing is correct.

If you apply 240 to A1 and A2, the contractor will pull in.

The only difference I would suggest is to use L1 and L3, not L1 and L2. The reason being as the contacts wear, it puts less side stress on the armature.

Small difference but I'm weird like that.......

If you're using a double throw switch, what is the 2nd function? Another motor? Reversing a motor?

Really would help to have the whole plan
