I can push it in and it cools. It has 24v going to it. I have a another new old stock unit same brand so i replaced the contactor and it didnt work is it bad also?

Not enough info. Stat calling? 24 volts on one side? Both? 24 v to ground?

Yeah, sounds like a bad/intermittent ground side wire.

Outdoor units are notorious for rusting out at the wire nut connections. Rust = break in connection. Go to where the t-stat wire cluster comes into the condensing unit, and check the connections there. Test for voltage.

You might find that just touching the wire nut to remove it makes the wire break off - as I have seen many times.

Like they said,make sure you have 24v at the coil for the contactor.

Wires nuts are clean it has 24v at brown wire on contactor from t stat. It also has 24v on blue wire on contactor and contactor is grounded.

Do you have 24v between the blue and brown wires themselves,not to ground?
If you have 24v between the wires at the contactor Id pull the brown and blue wires off the contactor and ohm out the coil on the contactor to make sure its good.

I wasnt testing between them i was testing to ground like DC. It was the high presser switch. My brain went haywire with the A/C thanks for all your help.
