continuing exhaust redo questions.

What is the protocol for how many or how far apart to space exhaust hangers?

When I got the car it was bolted up in only 2 places. ...at the 3 bolt turbo down pipe and at 2 points L/R at the very back. That was it. Everything else was unused and of course the front flange gaskets leaked like crazy.


I have since modified and reconnected the aft points. There are now a total of 4 and I added a hanger just aft of the resonators.

My question refers to the run from the turbo down pipe to the resonators. On each side there is a heavy cat, an O2 sensor, 2 V-band clamps and a flex joint.






The OEM set up had a large brace that was completely removed from my car.

You still need it to move some with the engine. It should allow the twisting even after the flex joint. If not the flex joint will fatigue and fail. Maybe use the forward support shown and two hangers at the far end.
