So I am in the process of having my backyard done. 750sq/ft of interlocking stones, fence and so on. I ask for 4 footings to build a 10X12 gazebo.
I come back to this. Should have him pull them out and start over. These are 4ft deep. The landscapers boss has not seen it yet but bet is going to try to say its good enough...
The rebar in the middle of the bracket touches the cartboard of the tube.

Pull it out and have the re do it those anchors are placed in center to carry load, plus I can't imagine how they intend to make the gazebo square or level using that

You would be wise to get another contractor...if that is how he started...who knows what the rest of his work will be like. Stop him now...later gets more expensive.

See f he even has a license...that may be your way out...

That's going to split/crack the sides of the footings. How pathetic. I guess he didn't properly measure where the footings were going and thus had to jab that one in there like that to get it to line up with the others.

Wood:
. . . . . . . Measure twice, and cut Once.

Concrete:
. . . . . . Measure Three, Four or even FIVE times, then dig and set forms.

Your "contractor" didn't even measure once before digging. :eyecrazy:

You answered it already . . . . start over.

:eyecrazy: I don't think it takes an engineer to see that that's not gonna work.

Edit: Sending the pic to an engineer I know. I bet he'll get a kick out of it (or a cringe).

I just showed this to my wife and her exact words...."The contractor did that? I would tell that motherf-er to grab a shovel and re-dig." She is very ladylike. :D

Who laid out either aspect of this. Or was the embed even laid out and just stabbed. But don't take my question wrong. Both aren't acceptable. That boy would be digging it all out and starting fresh.

Hold on, I see where this went sideways. The dude filling the hole set the embed, then in a moment of brilliance realized there wasn't enough room to dump the mud and slide off to the side. Well that man should get a pat on the back (of his head, a good hard one) for his extraordinary efforts.

Btw, not my first option but the bracket could be cut off. Drill a hole where it needs to go and once it's cured enough embed a new one in rated epoxy.

No way in hell I'd trust that contractor to do it again, if they think that's the right way of doing it. I'd find someone else, someone competent, because that one sure isn't.

SMH... hacks. Run them bastards off your property.
Even if it was set properly, plumb and level, there's no craftsman that would allow the top of the concrete to look like that. It should have been smoothed over, with a slight dome to it, so water runs off and doesn't pool on top.

did the actual contractor do this or one of his employees, i see my guys do stupid things all the time to save 15 secs. I just shake my head apologize and proceed to fix, not as big a deal as some here make it out to be. sona tube and couple bags of pre mix about 20 mins to fix. now if the actual contractor did it, well then you got issues.

An employee did. Still waiting to see what the boss is going to say. I hope for: Sorry, we will pull those out. Damn, he charges me 150$ per post!

The problem is that if they pull them out, theyvwill need to bring the excavator and recompact all the gravel around it for the patio stones. I realy do not want a ******* contest. I don't want to tell him how to do his job. I just expect professional result.

Am I asking for to much?

The most logical advice right there....

Cut it off with a torch. Buy a new bracket with the rebar welded to it. Hammer drill a hole where it needs to go, insert epoxy, insert new bracket.
