Anyone ever seen/done control joints cut straight through the stem wall too?

yes it was a monolithic pour, stem walls at 8"

Cut was made thru top of slab and then up & over stem wall about an inch deep? Shrinkage will happen in the next couple of months. I am sure you have read the various posts about caulking slab cuts...The stem wall cuts can be sealed also with backer rod and caulk.

oh no, they cut straight throught the full 8inches. I will get a pic tonite. had to deal with some serious rain last night.

Only vertical re at in stem wall, no horizontal? What's done is done. You can still seal up stem wall cuts with caulk & backer rod.

Caulk it up.....I think/believe it will be fine, did you see the rebar prior to the pour? Any photo you can post?

You are good. As others have said Seal with sikaflex or similar. I would cut tip thin and try and squeeze inside saw cut on exterior a bit.

I usually carry the cut's through the curb, but not much deeper than 1/2" or so. I plunge on each side of the curb (in the floor horizontally and vertically in the side of the exterior) to promote the crack to carry through the shallow cut. Also, we usually have a #3 rebar in the upper curb, so I avoid cutting through it.

As "machsnell" & "chris" noted, use a decent sealnt and backer rod on the exterior at a minimum, the remainder of the curb inside wouldn't hurt either.

PS, it looks like that pipe landed perfectly with a stud. What are you going to feed through it eventually?

hydraulic lines for the infloor scissor lift
