We had a 16' garage door with no man door access to the garage from the outside..it really sucked constantly having to roll up a big door just to grab a bike or whatever. Especially since I heat the garage in the winter (No cars allowed).
I searched around high and low on the web for info on doing a conversion, and amazingly there was little to no info. When the spring broke on the old door, I decided enough was enough.. how hard could it be?
I diamond drilled the slab and the concrete blocks and used Sitka concrete epoxy to set the blocks and some anchors.
Long story short, with a level and a plumb line, it wasn't bad. I think it would fool most folks... the light is the giveaway. It's so much better and now also have natural light.
So anyone out there stuck with a big *** door... have at it.
