Converting Impact Wrench to Driver

I recently purchased a Milwaukee 2861 M18 fuel Mid-Torque 1/2" impact wrench (friction ring version). I'm looking for an adapter to take it from 1/2-inch square to 1/4-inch hex. The adapter made by Milwaukee has generally good reviews, but enough people are claiming that it's "wobbly" and wasn't made for tools with the friction ring that I thought I ask here for the straight dope. Is the Milwaukee adapter the one I want or is there something out there that's better?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/opinions.

Is budget an issue? If not, Id get a dedicated 1/4 driver. You can find the basic M18 for pretty cheap on eBay or a recon on CPO.

Im probably the wrong guy to give advice though. I have the M12, M12 Fuel, M18, M18 Brushless and M18 Fuel 1/4 impacts :D

That's the best idea. I just bought the 1/2" impact wrench and 1/2" impact drill last week tho, and was kind of feeling guilty. I'm sure a dedicated 1/4" driver would be a superior solution anyway.

450 ft-lbs of torque seems like too much for the adapters, bits, and materials that are used with 1/4 hex drive.

Agreed, I have apex and Sk hex sockets with snap ring, and even my old 225 lb V18 impact shattered bits with ease, the fuel high torque is something else.
