Converting LiftMaster LJ8950W for sectional door

I happen to have an LJ8950W and a sectional door.

Yes, I know the LiftMaster LJ8950W is designed for use with with roll up doors.

But it seems to me that unless the motor speeds are dramatically different, to convert an LJ8950W to work with a sectional door, you just need the collar for mounting it directly to the jack shaft (instead of the sprockets and chain) and the cable tension monitor.

Has anyone done this before?

Thanks!

Well, I'll answer my own question:

Yes, it seems to work.

I bought a coupler and a cable tension monitor for the LJ8900W.

I removed the jumper on the green wire connectors (wherr the cable tension monitor wires connect).

Then, I followed the instructions for installing the LJ8900W.

Everything seems to work just fine.

Hello,
Would you mind sharing the details? Parts you used to convert and adjustments to the installation process? I have a 8950 sitting around that was thinking of doing the same with and use on my residential panel garage door.
Thanks
