I have a 110 lb blaster from HF. This guy: http://images.harborfreight.com/cpi/photos/95000-95099/95014.gif
Eastwood sells a "conversion kit" for $130.00    http://www.eastwood.com/soda-blasting-retro-fit-kit.html# that doesn't look like more than $15-$20 worth of brass fittings and hose.

I understand that for running soda in a media blaster there needs to be a restrictor (i think). Has anyone figured out the trick to do this w/o having to dump the bank on a conversion kit.

Speculation okay, but hard knowledge would be helpful. thanks.

Saw that in the magazine and thought the same thing. I made my pot out of a 30 gallon compressor tank and it works great. Just looks like some fittings to me.

No not using soda (yet) just alum oxide and glass. But the principal is the same. You'll just need to play with the size of the drop from pot to line. I had mine waaay to big at first (3/4" drop into 3/4 inch line). After messing with it found that 3/4 in with a 1/4 drop out of pot with a 1/2 inch hose worked best for alum oxide. Guessing you'd have to go smaller with soda (1/8?). Will have to find mini fittings. Try airbrush parts. They use 1/8:pimpflash
