Converting Mr. Heater from Propane to NG

I purchased a Mr. Heater Big Maxx 75 last spring when Northern had them on sale. Way ahead of time but the price was right. Well I am ready for heat in my new garage and when I went to hook it up last night, I poped the side cover and to my surprise it was a LP unit, not NG as the outside of the box showed. Well, long story short, since I have had this unit for almost a year, Northern is not going to help even though it has not been run. I am going to buy a conversion kit from Mr. Heater to go from LP to NG.

My question is: Besides changing the jets to the larger orfice ones what else do you have to do. I am assuming you have to adjust the gas valve? Is this hard to do and will the kit come with instructions? Has anyone here made this conversion and what was your experience.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Rick. I ordered the kit from Mr. Heater today. $37.41 to my door.

I am assuming the manometer is for setting (fine tuning) the manifold pressure to 4" of W.C. ?

Yep yep yep thatst the ticket for propane it was set at around 13"W.C. so when you install the new springs you need to dial it in you should be able to get the manometer locally at any HVAC supply store so you wont have to wait on shipping for it too :D. Let me know if you need any assistance and I can PM you my cell either that or PM me yours as I have unlimited long distance on mine.

Thanks again Rick. If I need help, I will be sure to holler. I talked to a friend of mine that has a HVAC business on the side and he said he had a Manometer that I could borrow. I really appreciate your help.
