My Streamlight Stinger LED box (purchased in 2008) says "Assembled in U.S.A.".

I'd buy that..........Facts are Facts alot of US corporations/products do have global components, nothing new at all.

I'd bet that Streamlight uses global components and is assembled in US, just like your box said!!!!!!

My two streamlight knuckleheads were both only Assembled in USA. Sadly has that HF/china rubber smell to them...

The LED Stinger I bought over a year ago says Assembled In USA. The light assembly it's self is the only part assembled here. The batteries were made in France and the charger is made in China. I've seen others with batteries made in Mexico.

IMO, it's important to email them. It is the only way they know that it is important to their customers. Otherwise, some MBA type is going to convince them that consumers don't care.

Thats interesting. I would of figured they'd be the opposite, housings made in the USA, Driver imported. Surely they have the capability to make the housings on their own.

They had the granite in the USA for that new Martin Luther King statue they erected in Maryland recently but they chose to ship over 1600 tons of granite from China instead.A 1600 tonne granite statue made in China then shipped to the USA.Nothing makes sense anymore , don't keep questioning it or you'll just go crazy.

FWIW, almost all high powered LED's (the emitter and chip parts of the light) are made in China now.

Even Cree, the big fish in the American LED pond makes most of it's emitters in it's Chinese factory.

Best you can hope for out of any decent light is for it to be assembled here. Chinese parts are going to be in there somewhere.

I own a Streamlight ProTac 1L. It is made in china. Has a Cree LED. The build quality is still excellent though. I have carried USA made SureFires for years and they are great lights. But I found this little ProTac and it is smaller weighs less and is brighter. So it became my primary EDC. As to how well it will hold up in the long run remains to be seen. But for $40, I can't complain. That's a lot cheaper than an equivalent SureFire.

As to my SureFires, I didn't get rid of them. They were old enough and running incan bulbs, I decided it was time for some LED drop in modules. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade, they are all much brighter now and have increased runtime. Lighthound.com has excellent LED drop ins for less than $20

Got a response today, a lot of good emailing them did,

"Hi, Thanks for you're inquiry, Most Streamlight flashlights are made in the USA."

that really answered my question, I gave them a part number and asked them specifically where that light was made
