While that link says U.S.A., I recently purchased the Mayhew Dominator picks and mini picks. The large picks clearly say Taiwan on the handle. I haven't found a COO mark on the mini picks.

Note that the Dominator picks are pretty large - I wanted them to pull cotter pins and stuff like that. They have a striking handle, and they look like they could handle being struck. The straight 'pick' is much more like a pin punch than pick. And I plan on using it like a punch. None of the picks are 'sharp'.

I use the mini style picks much more often - to pull o-rings, poke and prod things - esp electrical, punch holes, etc. Around the house I use them to pull stuff out of drains and open up caulk tubes :).

I thought I was buying USA and was disappointed when receiving the Dominators. But only by COO - the tools themselves seem really nice. I like the handles a lot.

Last I checked, these are USA and are excellent quality. (I used the straight one for removing grout and it stayed sharp) These are more the size of the Mayhew set. Much larger than the other sets you linked to.

Thanks. Maybe I'll get the Craftsman. I liked the Mayhew because they had striking caps. But the more I think about it, if I needed to strike them, then I'd probably rather reach for a chisel or punch instead. So the striking caps might be overkill.

The Craftsman were on sale the other day for $9 off, so were $20.99 after sale price. Maybe I'll keep an eye on them and wait for another price drop.

All my dominator prybars are made in the USA. Surprising that the big picks are not. I've got the big set on order from the tool guy at work. I thought I read somewhere that the CM Pro were also made by Mayhew, or maybe it was just the prybars. Those CM Pro sure seem to have the same tip shapes as the Mayhew set.

A lot of Mayhew's stuff now is made in the USA of global components. I'm pretty sure the business end of their punches, chisels, hooks and picks are made here and the handles are made in Taiwan. That, or the other way around, seems to be the consensus here.

At any rate, their tools are good regardless of COO. I don't have their hook and pick set, but their scrapers and prybars are very good.

On the large Mayhew's the handle says 'molded in Taiwan' - maybe the the shaft is made somewhere else. I don't have the original packaging.

I also have a Mayhew punch & chisel set which are all marked USA. They look very similar to a set of Craftsman that I've used for years. Again, I'm happy with the all of my Mayhew products - I just want to buy US where I can.
