check out this cool art deco fluorescent light... Any ideas what year this thing is?

Well, I don't remember anything like that from the 50's when I was growing up and hanging out at gas stations and garages. So, pre WWII?

the good thing if that is a T12 is that the T12 and the T8 bulbs are the same lenth so you can paint that thing up, install a new electronic ballast and the T8 lights and have a styling efficient light

Any stickers or stamps on the inside? How about in side the housing where the balast or starter sockets sit?

Orange cord, I'd guess someone has been there before, cool looking though.

Fluorescent lighting dates back to 1939, so go from there.
