I just scored a really nice, and fairly old I think, set of Cronotron torches. They came on an antique looking cart which was in tough shape and really too big for my needs but the torches have the cutting torch and four different welding tips. Along with it are a pretty old Airco multi wrench, an antique looking metal tin with the tips, a standard striker, 50 feet of hose the regulators and flashback arrestors. I think I did well today.

Find a welding/gas shop that has an old guy working there. He should be able to tell you about them and if they are good or junk.

X3 !! Never heard of that brand, but it sure looks to be in good condition. As already mentioned, take it to a welding supply shop to see if they will check it out for you. At the very least, check the O-rings to make sure they are still pliable.

I'm thinking those are a re-brand to go with a line of welding filler products they make. Seems to be sort of an industry specific type of sales company. A search tells that they make dissimilar metals MIG wire. I'd say it's a house brand from a company named Lawson Products.

Cronotron used to visit the maintenance facility that I used to work at, and supplied us with all the welding supplies. Their stuff was expensive, but very good quality. I don't know how long the company has been around, but that was the late 90's, early 2000's.

I fired them up this weekend an they work great. Seems well balanced an the knows all work well and feel smooth. All the tips look brand new except one which is one of the welding tips. So my guess is they were used mostly for brasing.

After a little more research and talking with people I found out that this was an industrial brand that was more geared toward large companies or government facilities that have tool cribs.

It is a USA brand and they feel very balanced compared to my older and smaller Harris set up.

BTW this is the first "You ****" I got so I take that as a good thing. LOL
