New to the site from the great state of Texas. I’m a fan of old usable tools and I enjoy repairing and repurposing stuff that others find useless. I’m drawn to tools made in Japan, Germany, and the USA. I found an old hammer a couple of years ago and was wondering if anyone else owns one of these. It’s an old cross/straight peen Plumb from what I believe to be the time when Plumb fully took over the company around 1886 or so. It’s highly likely that I’m incorrect here, but looking for some verification. Either way, it’s pretty damn cool in my opinion.

Welcome to the Forum from the beach in Southwestern California. I have owned Peening Hammers, mostly Ball and Flat Peens, the Cross and Straight Peens have walked away over the years.

I have memories of having visited Texas, the Navy sent me to a school in San Antonio; while I was there i bought a used car and explored on weekends.
