the idea for interchangeable AAA battery and re-chargeable USB battery is pretty neat.

seems like its bright.

probably a good (or good gift) for those outdoorsy types... joggers... people who don't already own a ton of other re-chargeable lights or haven't bought into a power tool battery ecosystem.

or if you just like lights and need one more....

thanks for sharing!

I was only able to tolerate about 30 seconds of the obnoxious background music in the video, which is completely unnecessary.
For real-world reviews of products of that nature, I'd suggest TrailSpace.com, which is a more appropriate venue for outdoor/hiking/climbing gear than here.
Personally I hate headlamps (or anything else wrapped around my head.) I've backpacked a lot of miles and climbed many peaks without the use of them. Usually the ambient light from the stars is enough on a clearly-defined trail. Sometimes under heavy canopy - 80%-90% cover - I'll carry a small flashlight, but prefer to have my hands free.

YMMV

Oh.. I had assumed that was the case.
All I really know about them is that the latest generation of LED headlamps are to the earliest models using tiny incandescent flashlight bulbs what the Tesla S is to the Model A Ford.
Check nwhikers.net - use the search function at the top and just search "headlamp" (by topic)(in the "Gear" forum) and see what tips they might offer. There are a lot of gear junkies on there who will try the latest gizmo just to say they did. ;)

I would never call a headlamp "cool," but I did purchase this exact one - went with their mid-range model. It's decent and gives off LOTS of light, which is what I wanted. It's a bit pricey, but I've tried cheaper headlamps and they are just that - cheap. I use mine mostly when I access the crawl space under our house, which I use for holiday decoration storage.

I got one of these too, tried it out this morning for the first time in the garage. I found it not cool at all, but altogether too warm - the heat from the LEDs soaks through the band and warms your brow. Maybe fine for winter in the shop, but I couldn’t wear it more than a half hour. Yeah I know we’re in a heat wave but I don’t need to add to the warmth. Its going back…

I can see it being useful for some things. However the light would not project very far. I also question the need for light for your peripheral vision. In the winter on weekend I live with a headlamp on, starting work before dawn, and no exterior lights. Then the sheds I work in are terribly lit (what genius thought three bulbs in a 50x100 shed was a good idea). When at customer's homes we are working in the basement looking in dark holes. My favorite light is a Coast HL27, however it is heavy and bulky. But it has a good spot light, and decent flood light. It is not the brightest at 330 lumens, but it places the light good enough that I suspect you would get more light directly in front of you were your working compared to the light bar. You can also increase and decrease brightness as well as changing the focus from spot to flood or some where in between.

It is my opinion that the lightbar would not direct the light were I needed it as it is wasting too many lumens on the side vs putting it directly in front of you. I wear glasses so I have to move my head to look were I want to see, so a beam that is not super wide is acceptable. Also there is no way to angle it down, so the light would be directed upwards due to the angle of most people foreheads. The lack of a spot function for me would be deal killer. But it might be good for other uses such as night exercise were the wrap around effect would make you more visible and the light output would be a secondary benefit.

I have a couple. I love them for working in panels, and tight spaces. It doesn’t cast a beam but just sort of lights everything up evenly. Creates far fewer shadows as well. Not as bright overall as a good regular headlamp, but for work, it’s great.

I have a couple headlamps, including nice petzl's. I ended up finding their uses limited. On top of that, I ended up finding anything using AAA's limited. They decay on an almost unbelievable level, and destroy whatever they are installed in as they do.

I'd use it in the winter while snow blowing the driveway and sidewalks in the evening.
Right now, I am using a hands free LED Headlamp Beanie Cap.
I could use it under the car, in the garage attic, during a power outage.
Cool...well, when your 62 and don't see too good in the dark, anything that helps is cool.
Price is a bit of a downer....LOL!
