Last weekend I picked this up from a flea market vendor for 5$ never seen a sharpener like this before, anyone know were it was used? I'm thinking a butcher or chef maybe but not sure.

Plus the other tools I scored there all USA just like I like them. And check out the International Harvester punches, had no idea they made tools.

IH, JD, Cat, don't make tools or tool boxes. They're usually good tools from other US manufacturers rebranded with the implement logo.

FWIW, I've been using Dexter Russell knives pretty much exclusively in my kitchen for forty years now, but never found one of their sharpeners at sales. One of the few remaining US manufacturers.

Ok, I wondered if that was the case but even still I had never seen any tools branded with there logo. And of all things to be nail punches, if it was hand tools for there tractors or trucks it would be more logical. But I imagine these and other tools were sold at there dealerships as merch.

Thats great to hear, I knew it was a smoking deal and bought it for the novelty more than anything.

$5 is still a good deal and then there's "allegedly". Every one I looked at was much less than the alleged "list price" of $100. You should have paid more attention in your ESL course.

I have one and use it on my kitchen knives. The rods are ceramic and in three levels of coarseness, from coarse to fine. I suggest pulling the knife towards you for the finishing hone.

Clean the rods with a rubberized abrasive block or comet cleanser.
