Guys, just got a pair of these at the local Lowes and have to share.

Just $20, 10 watt, 700 lumen and they work great!

All metal construction, light and can sit about anywhere. Pretty small to as you can see from the 12g shell next to it. The legs (2) wrap all around and could be drilled for mounting anywhere.

The real bonus is they are 110 AC and have a 20 ft 12 volt adapter too :bounce:

Heck for a couple hundred bucks or so you can do a whole garage if you wanted and have a spare or 2 in the car/truck.

Looks like a great deal! Does it have a pretty focused beam or does it light up the whole area pretty well?

Awesome!

And they don't heat up to 12,000,000,000 degrees like the halogens.

Probably hold up better when dropped, too.

Yep, they don't burn you by getting to close or changing bulbs from a little bump.

It is a flood, probably around 120*

Looks like a decent deal for $20. Going to lowes in a bit, maybe I'll take a look at them.

It will light up my whole 2 car garage with enough light to do detailed work. The power draw is next to nothing even on 12 volts

Picked one up yesterday.
The dual voltage really sold me.
It does put out some good light.
About the only change I'd like to see is a removable cord for the 120v side.

I looked at them Saturday, and noticed the switch on the back. It had a single line for one position and a double line for the opposite, as if they were trying to say that the single line was a dim illumination and the double lines are to indicate full brilliance. It was a 3 position switch, with off in the middle. But the unit on display only lit when the switch was pushed to the 2 line position. There was nothing on the box to indicate what the witch is for.

Is that to feed the lamp whichever power supply you are using?

Yes, because both voltages will require the voltage to be changed. 110 AC to 5v DC and 12v dc to 5v DC.

These are great until the cheap non heatsinked driver burns out. I build megawatt led lights for vehicles and other applications and i can tell you the driver on that will be short lived. One thing you can do to keep it alive a while longer is to tear it open and thermally attach the driver to the finned back plate. I would go as far as attaching a cheap cpu heatsink to the back of the light to keep the heat off the driver as much as possible.

The LEDS are pretty cool.

I picked up a LED shop light at costco for $40 over the weekend. It's brighter than the 2 florescent T-8s next to it, but there isn't an on/off switch!

can you show some wall shots at different camera exposure? I want to see how's the spread pattern.

I saw these at Lowes yesterday and it seemed pretty decent for a flood light. Very light weight, thin, and far more usable than the halogen cases. Unfortunately they didn't have any pricing and the staff didn't know anything about it, so I passed. If it had been marked for $20, I'd have bought one.

But this is just one of the first of many of this type of design, so I expect we'll see lots of variations and different prices.

I'd be curious how weatherproof they could be and if I could use them for scene lighting on site. I didn't know they were 12 vdc optioned. That may sell it to me.

I looked at them in my local Lowes, priced at $40. You're pricing might just be regional. They did seem pretty bright.

Dan

I picked one up tonight. There are two versions.

1) 750 lumes and also runs on 12v $25 on sale for $20
2) 1050 lumes, no 12v option, and $35.

At least here in phoenix. They had the 1050 on display so i opened a 750 and plugged it in. 1050 seems to spread out more where the 750 seemed more focused.

I picked one up today and so far, so good. Throws quite a bit of light for the size. I'm going to leave it on and see how it goes.

It has a 3 year warranty but according to the paperwork you have to package it up, along with the original receipt, and send it in to the manufacturer.

Still, for $20 and the 12 volt option, I think it's a good deal.
