Going back to my years of building model cars as a kid, this is very tempting:

But, c'mon, a kit like this for only $40? I say BS, especially because it is a seller on Facebook. I did fall for a similar ad last year, showing a "metal" kit of an overhead cam four cylinder engine kit for $29. What I got was a crappy lump of plastic resin in the shape similar to the kit as advertised, and hand painted probably with a sharpened twig.

Probably made in china where you can get a lot for $40. I can get diesel engine pistons made in Turkey for $25

I'm pretty sure Adam Savage assembled one of those kits a year or two ago on his Tested YouTube channel, you could look back through his videos to find it.

I ordered a plasma cutter on Amazon from China for $14. I knew what was going to happen, but I wanted to see for myself. Apparently the seller collected a few hundred orders in a few hours before Amazon was onto the scam. Credited me with the money with some silly explanation. The dude got away with $1000's is my guess.

Check out the amazon canada description of the very same thing, at a similar price point;

And a 4-banger version with some reviews and images.

If interest in model engines then check out the home model machinist group. These guys are great at building miniature running engines.
Beautiful work from craftsmen. IMG_4149.jpegIMG_4148.jpegIMG_4150.jpeg

LESS THAN 1 1/2 STARS, read the reviews, heres a typical one.

"Very pissed off. DO NOT BUY!!!! THIS IS NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED!!! JUST A SOLID PIECE OF CERAMIC that looks like a toddler painted it, NOT A MODEL TO BUILD!!!😡 Don't waste your money!!!! Buyers beware.... Amazon take this off the market or change the advertisement!!!! So upset. Bought this for my fiance and one for my friend for Christmas. Now what do I do??? EFFN BS 😤😡😡😡😡"

I just ordered one. $39.98 was the order total.
No surprise, but this appears to be fraud. The seller has claimed my package has been mishandled by the shipper 3 times now as they send me tracking numbers for shipments not destined for me (or even my state). Likely will need to dispute the CC charge.

I’ve ordered about two things I’ve seen on FB. Both of them have been complete junk. I’m to the point if I see it on FB I will not even consider it.

Niget2002, [or anybody else] also check out Martin Models for casting kits from Ohio IIRC, Stuart makes some nice stuff for sure. Just adding for a wider choice of models. Harry

If any of you are near Lebanon Pa. the link to the show I posted is well worth the trip. There are craftsmen there that build small engines of all types and show them running. Open th site and look at the past years photo gallery. My Son and I have been going for years.

Nice. Thanks.

Here's another casting company. https://pmmodelengines.com/ I'm not sure if this show is going to come back or not. I sure hope so! http://www.modelengineeringsociety.com/
Some cool models have been shown there of varying execution from simple in wood and metal, through jaw dropping, [supposed to be along the same vein as cabin fever, another I hope to attend. Harry
PM was the other one I couldn't remember.

I have these all bookmarked now.
