That is a clean, original, vintage drill press! If the seller is for real and it really doesn't have many hours on it, $450 sounds pretty much in line. There's not gonna be alot of buyers at that price so if you're considering it, I'd offer $300 and see where it goes. The only thing it doesn't have is the speed reduction setup, which would be nice.

I actually have one that I paid, I believe $150 for. I gave it a restoration and I use it alot. Very pleased with it. The one your posting is a quality piece and in that condition will probably out live you!

I am not in the market for one. Just thought it was way cool. If I needed one I would jump on it.

Way, way, too high unless one really prizes "like-new".

If one wants a working DP, $450 is Clausing territory. I see those Craftsman DPs with less spiffy paint but just as operational for $100-150 all the time.

It is beautiful. One day I really need to break mine down and restore it. $450 is crazy, at least for my local market. Around here they range from $50 for rough to maybe $150 for super clean. That's not to say that we don't get the periodic $450 too. Looks like it had a mortising setup at some point. I do have to wonder about the story though. What 50 to 60 year old drill press comes out of a basement looking that clean? Even an unused one.

Thanks for sharing.

My Dad is a snow bird... if it were later in the year, I'd ask him to go make an offer on it. Then, I'd pay for it and give my dad the drill press. :)

I don't think I'd go $450 for it though... Maybe $300.

7th Kahuna, if you think that price is high for your area (Los Angeles), Its highly unlikely anyone in Kalispell will cough up that much dough...even though half the people in Kalispell (SoKal, hahahaha) are from Los Angeles!
