I check the trash truck at work on a regular basis for goodies. Monday I went in found a metal sawzall case and this old box. I could see the brand stamp in it but couldnt make it out with all the grease so I threw it in the back of my truck and headed to Fl. for the week. Damn thing's been eating at me all week especially seeing Elroys running board box.

Today I wiped it out a little bit. Had to read it backwards because of a rusty spot in the backside. Made by Ringer Worcester patent pending 1926, very well built in pretty good shape too. Anybody ever heard of them?

I'm not familiar with the name, but anything that old has to be cool!

What kind of place do you work at to be checking the trash truck? Any other good finds from there?

A long time coming, but rw ringer worcester was the company making toolboxes for walden worcester. The patent is for the construction technique used. Only a relatively small number of boxes were stamped this way, but waldens socket wrench boxes continued to be made this way for years. Here is a complete example along with an earlier set on left made before the 1926 patent.
