I saw an ad on CL for old school tools. I emailed and asked what is the earliest I can come in the morning. The guy gave me the address and said 12:00. I almost didn't go as it was a 45min drive and figured all the good stuff would be gone. But I went anyway, as I was digging through the garage and making my pile, he came out and said there is a shed around back with a tool box in it as well. From the looks of things I was probably the first one there. The Proto box was the one in the shed. Crazy to find a tool box that has been in the box for 40 years. Here is the rest of the items I bought. The Armstrong ratchet is now my favorite ratchet

There is a Stamp S01-80, so I assume it was made in 1980

I found my well used example of that box at a Tahoe garage sale in 2017. They are dated on the top shelf. Mine was made 7/77.

The shop it was sent to is only a few miles away from where I bought it, and is still in business.
