While at a Nascar event today (race here tomorrow in Chicago), I noticed a cool use of a Universal Joint connected to the track bar adjustment screw. Could not find any markings on it though as to who's it was.

it does not look heavy duty enough to be for a steering shaft
I suspect that it is made similar to a tool one but for the general use application they are doing

It's a 1/2" u joint.
On the other end of it is a 1/2" drive impact socket that they threaded the end to screw onto another piece. A complete McGuyver........but I love it!

I don't really understand what that setup does. You must have pretty good eyes to catch that.

I suppose they could then tune the axle for a particular pitch on a track. Offsetting the axle however far they'd need to to get the best feel. It easily could have an effect on handling.

Adjustable front and rear trackbars are common on lifted Jeeps but basically you only do it once because of the geometry changes from a lift.

It looks like a regular universal. Either 1/2 or 3/4 with a hole drilled into it for that pipe.

They make them small like that for steering. I have them on my car when I made the steering shafts. Flaming river and other companys make them.
