Cool Valve Stem Remover

This has got to be one of those items where yesteryear's stuff is way cooler than what we get today.

This is my entry for "My Valve Stem Remover is Cooler than yours" contest.

as an old tire buster , i will be watching this one with interest.......never had anything special myself as i normally had milton tools supplied to me.........

I just use a deal that screws on there the cap goes and there is a 12" or so rod. Pry against the tire and it pulls it right out. Takes just a few secs to do all 4 tires.

I have one that is similar to a screwdriver, came with a set of 4 other tools.

HemiRambler, I like that valve core tool. Gotta love an onboard place to store spare valve cores!

I use an old valve stem cap with the core tool made on the cap. Then I took that old cap and attached it to a used valve stem, and the entire thing was free. I've been using it for 40 years.
Free is cool.

Mine is nothing more than a valve stem cap with a stem remover intergraded on the top.

Here's a few more. The one on the left I made from a carriage bolt with a cap soldered on it about 40 years ago, the one in top of the picture is a double ended one, and I must have the deluxe model of the one you posted because it's made of brass.

Yeah the valve stem cap/core tool screwed onto an old valve stem has been my tool forever too - that's why I thought this one so cool - then again I like old cool stuff. Here's some more things I grab when I can for little or nothing.

Why do these things fascinate me? I dunno - maybe it's the stories they could tell...

I don't have photos of mine, but it's a 4-way tool. it has the core removal tool on one end, and the other end screws onto the valve stem. It will repair threads, or I just use the handles from a pair a pliers under the crossbar, and pull a new stem in.

The cross bar will also re-thread the inside of the stem, where the valve goes. I'll try to take some photos and post 'em up.

I also just use some longer valve stems, with caps that have the tool on them, and some solid steel tools shoved in the end of some hose. Been that way for as long as I can remember, they're my father's tools, although I use them more than he does anymore.
