Flexivise is kinda cool. What's the build up behind the jaws on the other? Weld?

Never seen one before. I have entertained the thouht of rigging up a round tube mount sort of like on an engine stand to allow a vise to swivel in the (vertical plane :headscrat I think)

Ran into this Champion Blower & Forge Combination "Repairer" at a flea market here in Florida. The anvil that is supposed to swivel up to allow the underside to rest vertical and be a backstop for a drill attachment was welded shut. I carefully cut the welds and did a beginning restoration. I could not get the "pins" to come out that hold the two vertical (non-screw) bars in and I suppose I'll have to heat and press them out to better polish up that part of the vise. This has the 1920 Pat. date and appears to be the 2nd version from 1921. I noticed the 1st version (1920) does not have the rotating anvil - instead it is removed entirely to use the other attachments (drill and grinder). The handle mechanism for the attachments is the same handle used on the forge blower! Pretty cool 100 year+ vise.

My dad bought some land to build a house and retire to, and there was a shed with a bunch of random stuff in it that we split up and started restoring. I’m going to make a bigger thread but here’s the first thing I started working on, a random tiny boi. Tried to get it a little tighter when locking up and it was the perfect size for random desk stuff.
