I need to add to my stash a coolant Pressure tester - preferably with Adapters for BMW and Audi (the cars in my stash).

Just a weekend warrior here.
Any recommendations, suggestions.

I'd go with stant's basic kit and buy the adapters you need as need. Stant is the standard and has a very wide coverage.

Theyre all about the same really. I have a Matco one personally. I used mine on semi trucks, and cars when I needed to. Now I use it on Caterpillar equipment.

If you spend about 100.00 new, thats about normal. The adapters you will most likely get separately unless you go with a universal one (they work but wear out over time), or go through a dealer to get em.

Stant and buy the adapters as needed. If you google "stant" you can get a link to their website that has a part locator page that you can find what adapters are for your vehicles. The adapters are pretty expensive but they are metal and will last forever probably.

Harbor Freight makes one that covers european/german and most other cars out there; the set isn't pro quality but maybe fine for occasional use. The pump and everything in the kit is plastic; treat it with care, the plastic on the pump can crack if dropped or treated roughly. I have this kit and it has worked fine on my 1.8T new beetle; we did break the pump but this was in a professional shop environment (plastic ring on the pump cracked). We then; just added some fittings and adapted the hoses to work with a Standt style pump. The Stant stuff is awesome quality; to buy all the adapters you need for different cars can get expensive. The HF is a affordable option but not high quality, should be fine for your situation.

Some people have also made their own adapter for BMW and VAG cars by purchasing a extra cooling cap that your car uses and fabricating, a connection to your pressure tester.
