OK,
Time to replace a coolant system pressure tester I have an old used snap on svt 262

Looking to replace because adapters corroded from ages of improper storage (not mine)

I have looked at the Mityvac the ATD-3301 the new version of the above from snap on, and the snap on "bladder" type kit.

I was even looking at a stant, but not sure on adapters and how many and how much I would be spending.

I would like to be able to accuretly test for intake leaks, coolant system leaks etc. What is everyone using

I own a repair shop and don't see a lot of European foreign, but Asian, and domestic.

Any Thoughts?

I have the Stant and every "new" adapter I need costs $30-$50. Just bought another one for a Chipper we have with a CAT engine and got off cheap....$24. The only reason I keep using it is the local NAPA and Carquest can get the adapters.

FWIW, all of the Stant adapters can be used with the ATD/OTC/HF testers. Just use the "standard" American adapter on the ATD/etc, and plug it into the stant adapter.

If I had to start over, like you are, I would go with the ATD, and plan on buying an adapter or 2 every year anyway as new caps are made by the auto makers.

Damn I got the snap on kit with the 14 piece blue point adapter kit. That was damn near $600.

Sounds like everyone is working with the Stant, or equivalent, the only thing like all of you, I am not wanting to spend $$$ for adapters, I mean yes I will use them. I have not looked at the Redline kit, doing that after I hit post.

I like the idea of the BLADDER TYPE, just not sure on the sealing and if it's as fool proof as the positive lock kits

I bought the Stant from typical tool place, maybe Amazon, then bought adapters from Advanced Auto Parts using heavy discounts from coupons. $50 off $100 or something like that.

Something to consider is that testing caps may be required or useful, same for fuel tank caps.

Will be following this thread, have two now that are just dated and no longer work. Looking for something new, one was a Stant other was a Mityvac.
