I have long out grown my first set of craftsman ratchets in the blow molded case, but I have always wondered what is the coolest cased tool set you guys have seen was?

Even with a tool chest full of tools, having a portable case with a slot for every tool has always seemed cool to me....

there are those loaded up Blue Point / Williams thingies. They don't even seem breathtakingly expensive on eBay.

The coolest tool in a fitted case that I own is a 0-1" Micrometer in a beat up, greasy, oily, showing-years-of-wear wooden case with a broken hinge & a non-working clasp ... it was my grand father's and he gave it to me about a month before he passed away.

Not worth a nickel to anyone other than me ... but there isn't enough money here to buy it.

I always throw the blow-molded cases away. They are a product of the 1980s. Before that, tools came in metal cases.

I can relate to that..I have a very old set of 1/2 drive Bonney Sockets with an "L" shaped bar I got from my Grandfather years ago and it cam in a very old but very well built(finger jointed corners) wooden box..chipped and oil stained but still as strong as ever..that older stuff especially handed down thru family is worth more than anyone can imagine.
