I know this MB is primarily concerned with garage/shop stuff, but:

I want to know: Who besides myself attempts to cool a large space (1500' or more) with one or two window/thru-wall units at 90*+ OSA temps?

I'll start (maybe ad nauseum) by saying I have a 120V LG 15K window unit located centrally in my 2100* ranch home, in conjunction with the forced air furnace fan to distribute the air throughout the house. When we catch it early (OSA is 3*-4* warmer than the interior), we close all exterior openings and start the window A/C around 75* interior temp.

We live in SW WA State and this summer is fairly normal. It is now 96 * OSA and the interior temp is 75* at 1600 hrs (4 PM for you civilians).

It works for us.

Interested in other experiences, please.

Thanks for putting up with my posts.

I cooled my 1000 square ft shop in NY with two window units mounted through the walls. The both had thermostats on them and I left them on all the time. If the OA stayed below 95 I could keep the shop around 75
