Just a reminder to any contractors out here that work on commercial / industrial cooling towers ( think NYC LD outbreak right now) just for your safety and your customers. The place I just retired from I had my water treatment company for the cooling tower to make Legionaries Disease testing a part of their water treatment program. The testing is cheap insurance really.....
The tests will not 100 % prevent a LD flareup, but will give the owner/operator a hands up on catching it early. Also, it sure works better for a facility to prove they are making an attempt to prevent an outbreak of LD, by periodic testing for LD....than to just play ignorant about it, especially when LD deaths are NOT news anymore. It's all about risk management anymore I guess. JMO
