Copper 1/0 uf conductor price?

What is the going rate for 1/0 uf conductor? Is there a web sight that has prices for service cable?

No idea as we don't use UF, crappy installation in my opinion, we'd pipe it. You have to dig for either one, deeper for UF, UF will cost more money than PVC conduit and THHN.

Well kind of a long story, but I have a sub panel I would like to feed 200amps. The minimum distance would be 112feet or some where around 275 feet. It will be installed in PVC.


I'm just looking for a rough idea on price (list) like $10,$15,$20 a foot

well, first you need 3/0 not 1/0 for 200 amps. 1/0 is good for 150 amps. 3/0 is somewhere around $3 or $4/ft, so three 3/0=$12, plus a #4 for the ground at say $1/ft = $13/ft somewhere around there.

for comparison 4/0 aluminum is only around $1.30/ft so you would save alot of cash if you use aluminum (unless you are on the coast)

Cost more but how does an individul pull 4/0 alum or 3/0 copper by himself. If its a long pull you'll need tugger, most homeowners don't have that

Thanks for the reply. 3/0 copper is that because of derating? How deep is code requirements for PVC what size for 3/0? At the time of install I would like to run PVC for video data and probable PVC (If bursts under ground I will abandon) for air but not a must any special code requirements for this?

3/0 copper for 200a is the ampacity of the conductor before any derating. 1/0 is only good for 150a. 2in conduit for 3/0 copper, 2,1/2in for 4/0 if you decide to go with aluminum.

If you read the post you'd see he said he needed 1/0, he later said what he needed it for and was then told he needed the 3/0. How many electrical contractors don't have tuggers? I know many that do not, so they all run UF I guess? Not even close, I've pulled 500's by hand, of course not by myself. I guess you like UF.

Like? nah, but I work by myself so I look at things differently. Don't do alot of services so my experience pulling big conductors is limited. I'd say if UF meets code go for it. I don't see it as better or worse if done correctly
