I own a two year old quincy compressor Model Number: 2V41C60VC, I’m having a problem with the auto shut-off. It is supposed to shut off at 175 psi; however it will run until 200 psi at which point the pressure relief valve opens to prevent damage. Sometime at 175 psi the compressor will sputter as if it was trying to shut off but then it goes back to its normal cycle and runs, even after the pressure relief valve opens the compressor will continue to run. This doesn’t happen every time the compressor is running but it happens more times than not. I originally thought it was caused by cold weather but we had a 70 degree day yesterday and it still happened. I’ve checked my wiring and changed the oil recently but nothing has prevented this from happening. Has anyone ever heard of this happening or had problems with this before? I emailed Quincy about it to see what they have to say but in the mean time I thought I would post on here for some advice.
