I recommend a sticky on all the forums about using quotes in a post. Especially in a picture heavy thread the sticky should recommend that posters delete copied images and pics unless they are specifically referring to a certain pic or image. There would be far more post on any given page and it would be a much faster read.

Are people lazy about this or are they ignorant as to the redundancy?

I'm with you Zeke. It drives me crazy scrolling through nine oversized pictures over and over to see the comment"Cool!". With the exception of when it happens on the pinup so thread.

I can agree with that. I think we have to educate members about this. A sticky may not be the way to do it. We still have members that post to spam with reported etc. so I doubt a sticky is the answer. We also have members that do single quotes when they could use the multi quote button.

Several years back Zeke, I recommended that members limit pictures to about 3 per post for this reason. All you have to do is make a few more posts rather than 1 long post with several pictures. A few cried foul because they thought they shouldn't be limited to a certain number of pictures per post. Simply, spread the pictures over a few posts.

Doing that does three things,

If you were to limit your posts to a few pictures, you wouldn't get huge quotes with tons of pictures, sometimes repeatedly.

Secondly, for those that seem to complain about the 100 post classified rule, it gives them a few more posts under their belt.

Lastly, if you sign out every time you leave GJ and don't get check "remember me" when you sign back in, you won't get timed out while you're typing a long post with several pictures and lose what you have spent time typing/attaching or linking.
