Looking for a cordless drill that spins up to 3200-3500 rpm, like an air drill.
I have a Dynabrade air drill that I use for small holes, in steel and wood, it turns 3200, just wish it was cordless.
Tried using a 1/4" impact at 2400, it's okay, but still way slower and harder to push through on steel than the dynabrade.
I also don't like when the impact goes to impacting instead of drilling, has anyone "locked up" an impact so it just turns like drill.
Can't believe no one makes such a unit, seems like it would be real easy to make.

Just for future reference:

Fein ASCM 18-4 QM AS (up to 4000 rpm)

Metabo BS 18 LTX-3 BL Q Metal (up to 4000 rpm)

Festool TDC 18/4 Quadrive (up to 3600 rpm)

(Using the predecessor of the TDC 18/4 myself.)

That said, if you want the feel/weight/balance of an air drill, the Snap-On seems to be overall your best option.

Kind regards,
Olli

You didn’t say how big the holes were. Cordless Dremel? 5-35k rpm.

Die grinder? Up to 25k rpm

I saw a guy that had adapted a mini chuck to a M12 sander. I think it freewheeled at around 8,000 rpm.
