Northern tool selling one:

Looks like they cut the price in half. Couple things come to mind - claiming it throws snow 32 feet - better be really light snow. Also claim environmentally friendly - wonder what the trade offs are with the lithium batteries - lithium production, battery manyfacturing and disposal environmental concerns.

Did you read the reviews? The third one tells much,

3 hp two stage blower

If you live in Steamboat Springs and your snow is Champagne Powder, this might be the blower for you. If you're in the ice like the East or Mid-West not so much. 2500 watts is 3.3 HP, do the math.

Let's see. 2400 watts divided by 40 volts = 60 amps. A 5 amp hour battery divided by 60 amps = .083 hours or 5 minutes at 100% efficiency. (Nothing is 100% efficient.) How much snow can you throw with a 3.2 HP blower in five minutes?

Yeah, and Li-ion batteries work great in the cold! :headscrat

My Milwaukee tool battery work great in the cold, even subzero temps. Not sure if the type used for the snow blower would be different.

I can't imagine any cordless model performing well in anything but a light dust of a snow. When we get a foot of icy/slushy snow here, the blower on my 21hp riding mower has to really work to get it done.

The Toro CCR Powerlite was a 3hp 2 cycle snow thrower, and did a great job for its size. At only about 35 pounds, snow contractors still love them for sidewalk crews. The can be picked up and thrown into a vehicle by anyone.

I'm skeptical of the cordless one though.

I bet there's one sitting in a box in my parents' basement because mom ordered it from QVC.

This is funny. My parents are friend's with a guy who still lives with his brother (weirdo) and all he does is buy **** off QVC for the last 30 years at least. The funny thing is, their garage, basement, etc are all filled with UNOPENED boxes. As in package was delivered, placed in the garage and never opened. I guarantee he has some NIB, mint Richard Simmons videos, VCR, walkman, probably a couple of those knife collections that redneck sells, etc, etc, etc. It's a sickness I guess. Very, very strange....
