I've been looking at cordless Dewalt, Bosch and, Hitachi framing nailers lately. They all seem to have so so reviews. People either love them or hate them. I'd like to get one and figured I'd roll the cost into my 12x16 shed I'm getting ready to build. Anybody have one? What are your thoughts on them?

Thanks!

I want one! They are $$$$$$ though. If your doing a job outside I cannot justify the use, as the pneumatics can be powered by a small 1/4" hose and pancake compressor.

Where they tend to shin is for interior work. No mess or worry about scuffing up finished trim/paint. No hauling lines and compressor through house.

I've seen them used but have not used a project for one yet...don't think I would by a framing nailer, but have interest in the 15/16/18 gauge trim nailers.

Agreed. For framing I use a real framing gun, no worries about partially drove nails. For interior work, a battery powered finish nailer would be really nice, something like the dewalt

depends on what your framing if its a whole house air framer. for remodeling the Paslode gas framer all the way, for one wall its not worth dragging the air compressor out.

finish nailer try the ryobi we do oak molding with them and never a problem,

looked at the dewalt when i was buying the Paslode the full battery one are still not there .

I've got the Dewalt framing nailer. it's only been used less than a handful of times. If I'm in need of a nailer I'm using doing some level of remodeling (which is guaranteed to be a interior) and 9 times out of 10 , it's more a impact driver and a bucket of GRK screws

Good comparative vid between the Dewalt and Hitachi cordless framing nailers:

I got a refurb'ed Hitachi from Big Sky Tool and love it. I don't use it in a production environment (too heavy, magazine too small) but for sheds, basements and punch lists it has been just about perfect. A bit heavy but that cuts down on recoil. Fires virtually without delay (closest to a pneumatic gun).

Good luck in your search! Let us know what you decide and why
