Cordless grease guns

Are they worth it? We have a tractor and some other equipment that eats grease, and I'm trying to justify the Milwaukee. Looks like my batteries won't be compatible, sure wish Makita made a 18v grease gun

The Milwaukee is excellent. I love mine. Wasn't a huge fan of the Lincoln I had before it disappeared from my service truck.

Bought the dewalt 20v to go along with my other dewalt tools. Use it everyday as a heavy equipment mechanic and grease 3 tractor/ b-train trailers. Makes super quick work of them. It was pricey but absolutely worth it.

Our service shop (we have a separate shops for service and rental) has the Dewalt - great purchase. when you have to grease a lot into a machine or grease a lot of machines it's helpful. We could have gone with an air one, and honestly I'm not sure why we didn't, or why we went with dewalt (which we bought 2 months before it was even available) over a known grease gun company like Lincoln, but the mechanics were not the one who made the purchase.

Not a fan of the air ones. And our Lincoln (older 12v? Model) is always ruining batteries. I've heard good things about the dewalt and we have one now, just haven't used it yet

when I use to service a tow truck years ago with close to 60 fittings I was able to shave 10 min or so of time off the job and also my hands didn't cramp up any more .


go get a good one and you will love it .

Have the dewalt 20v model and have the 18v Lincoln nicd model. Lincoln works good for my home use. But batteries don't last very long. The dewalt is a little on the fast side but battery life is really good. Fast is nice if your in a hurry but gotta becarefull with u-joints so you don't blow the seals out.

I have a Lincoln and am not thrilled with it. Every time I want to use it, the battery is dead. The battery just doesn't hold a charge.

I have the M12 Milwaukee and love it, Im not a service guy. mine is just for home use, car's, lawn mower, Tractor and brush-hog

I bought an M12 specifically for greasing iron bearings on a disc harrow, love it. battery life is sufficient even with the small M12 batteries.

Getting into the M12 platform is never a bad idea, I've never understood why I'd want Lincoln 12V batteries to use in one solitary tool. More batteries and more chargers hogging receptacles for one thing.

I've never bought a recon grease gun but have purchased several other recons with great results including metal cutting saw, multi-voltage radio, 3/8" ratchet, inspection camera, Fuel 1/2" hammer drill, M18 1/2 drill and impact driver combo, and corded 18ga metal shears. But yes, you do lose 4 years of warranty.

I have the M12 also, has been working great for about 4 years now. If you need a reason to get into the M12 battery system, this is a great reason, and you will have one of the largest selection of other tools to run from the M12 system. You could go M18 also, but it is about $100 more. If you already have 18v LXT, M12 might be a better choice as a compact alternative to your LXT.

For $258 (2 x $129) you would have 1 charger, 4 batteries (2 XC 2 regular), 1 grease gun, 1 drill, 1 impact driver and 2 cases. The HD deal is not the Fuel line but still excellent.

Not exactly an LXT tool, this would probably work on any drill, and for $100 I would spring the extra for the M12.

No experience with the Lincoln, most other threads I have read, people that had it were satisfied. This thread is the first I see more than one person being not too happy with the batteries.

If you go through a lot of grease on equipment and a tractor, what about buying a 120 pound keg of grease and a used Lincoln air grease gun?

Why do they call them cordless grease guns?

All of my grease guns have always been cordless, including some that are older than I am.

If you're specifically looking for something battery powered, the first place I would look is something that uses batteries I already have. The next thing I would look for would be a lithium battery option.

The batteries are the only meaningful difference from one to another.
