I am wondering what would be better to use , a cordless impact wrench/impact driver or a cordless ratchet for small bolts like say oil pan bolts and the reasons why? I have a Snap-On 4410 and was thinking what to get for smaller jobs. I guess I want to start a debate of cordless impact vs. cordless ratchet and the pros and cons. Thanks!

not one person in my shop has a cordless ratchet. air ratchets or hand ratchets. cordless impacts...everyone has at least a 1/4 and a 3/8 and most have 1/2. you said you had a 4410 which is by far my favorite 3/8. for a 1/4 i have a matco 10.8v and it is awesome. the snap on one is also awesome but get the ni cad ones, the lithium ones are too much for not enough benefit and havent been out long. so far both have been bulletprood. as far as i know a cordless ratchet is more money and not as strong but i could be wront.

get BOTH! different tool for different situation. I have a dewalt 12v 1/4 impact and a ******** 1/4 LiOn ratchet use the heck out of both of them on the daily. I got the impact first, it's quicker than the ratchet of course, but can't go where the ratchet goes.

For removing ****** pan bolts I'd use an impact. For putting them back on I'd use the ratchet.

Anything engine bay or interior of the car, I use my ratchet. Everything else, I use the impact.

Why not have both?

That M12 ratchet is sweet ... used it for the first time to remove the hold down ******** a failed battery. It zipped those those nuts off fast and you can use it as a regular ratchet wrench to final tighten. I'm considering getting the M12 3/8" impact to complement my Cman C3 1/2" impact.
