Re: Cordless impact suggrstuons?

I would get the Milwaukee 2763-2X 1/2" high torque, the 2655B-2X compact 1/2" with ball pin anvil, and the 2654-2X compact 3/8" (which I already have). But I'm already somewhat invested in the M18 platform. If I wasn't I might look at the IR IQv20 platform....

I have the ct8810 from Snap-On, I frickin love it. It has done pretty much everything I've put it to, within reason, I am a heavy duty truck mechanic in the rust belt, so you can only imagine the amount of tough fasteners there are to remove. It is a great option if you don't mind shelling out some coin for it.

Thanks so much. How long are the M18 batteries lasting? I have a construction supply up the road that is a Milwaukee dealer.

im by no means an expert - but i assume this will depend on your application and the load you put to it...

i have the 7/16 hex drive fuel impact (for utlilty work) and the batteries (4ah) dont last very long - but im drilling 11/16 holes in poles that are 12" thick, and attaching some pretty big hardware.. its alot of constant running - esp for the drilling.. i imagine just running nuts on/off would be much easier on the impact and battery..

I'm only a hobbyist so that's where my opinion is coming from and I'm also looking for a cordless impact. I'm seriously considering picking up the kobalt 1/2 in this week. At 279 including 2 batteries and 5 year warranty I'm pretty sure it would meet my needs. Reviews on Lowe's were all positive (I generally take reviews with a grain of salt). For an extra 160 I figure it's a bit better risk that the harbor freight.
