Cordless Impact, what is enough?

Looking at cordless Impacts, 1/2" with enough power to do tire rotations. My lug torque is 140 Ft. Lbs. I want just enough power to do the job. Hoping to keep weight, vibration and noise down to a minimum. I do have access to 4 amp Dewalt battery & charger although will consider all makes. Any suggestions?

Any good 1/2" impact will remove lug nuts with ease. I have cordless 3/8 and 1/2 impacts and use them often. They are really great tools. One thing to remember, never use an impact to install lug nuts. Use a torque wrench. An impact can easily snap a stud off.

You’d probably be well served with a mid torque.

The problem with the high torque ones is they are very heavy and large. Good for wheels and such but don’t expect them to have as much use in tighter spaces.

I have a Dewalt mid torque. Takes lug nuts off with ease. My lugs are 140 lb ft. Doesn’t work well with fasteners torque to 170 with lock tight on the threads like brake caliper brackets. If you plan to do something like that, get something more powerful than the Dewalt mid torque.

Thanks for all the suggestions. While I'm familiar with using a impact(air), I have no knowledge of cordless impacts. Sounds like the mid-torque models will be fine for my purpose. I'll see what surfaces in the Black Friday sales.

Who are all you people kidding. This is Garage Journal, there is no such thing as enough. You go straight from not enough to way too much. I don't know what I would do without my Ingersoll Rand 285B to change the lugnuts on my Civic.
