cordless impact wrench or cordless torque wrench

"Now" I am confused... We are talking only cordless here.

Are impact wrenches and torque wrenches the same thing? I have used torque wrenches with my former air compressor. If they are different, what should I look for to remove the wheels on my car or axles on the motorcycle.

I saw a Makita kit with the cordless impact, circular saw, and cordless drill at HD last night, but not sure it's what I need.

Once I figure out if it's an impact / torque / or?? LOL....... can someone recommend some other than Snap On? Budget? "spend as little as possible, to do the job"... or in the $200 range, maybe.

You want an impact wrench for removing fasteners.

And a torque wrench for setting bolts/lugs to propper lbs feet of torque.

id doubt it - the impact driver you get with that will be designed for driving screws - its very good at that but its not for removing lug nuts.

Impact wrenches are a power tool with a square drive end, commonly either 3/8" or 1/2". These are designed to loosen and tighten nuts and bolts.

Impact drivers are a power tool with a 1/4" female hex, and are designed at driving screws, such as deck screws.

Yeah, all torque wrenches are cordless, you use them to torque your lugnuts, etc to a designated amount, like 140 ft/lbs.

Omg, do i feel stupid lol. I have been out of touch with tools for too long lol. No no, torque wrenches, i ageee, arent air or "cordless". Well they are cordless lol.

So that makita is probably an impact driver as someone mentioned.

I would like to get it all on one platform for ease of charging but the jig saw and circular saw i dont need to spend tje $ on for cordless as i use them very little. So i just see myself buying a cordless impact wrench for now with sufficient torque to remove a wheel or two every once in a while.
