Cordless outdoor tools-which platform?

I took out the lawn mower to do the last cut of the season a few days ago. My typical routine is:
Cut most of the yard with the cub cadet riding mower
Trim close to the house with the Honda walk behind mower
Trim with the echo weed eater
Blow off the street, driveway, sidewalk and porch with the husqvarna backpack blower,

The blower has seen better days. I bought it used about 10 years ago. It’s been a great tool, but it needs some love. It’s hard to start and it leaks fuel. I hate buying into the disposable mentality, but it seems inevitable. Most of the parts are obsolete/not available and the ones that are available are expensive...a new carb is $90. Maybe it’s time to move to cordless outdoor tools.

If I make the leap for a blower, do I sell off the Honda and weed eater at the same time and buy all new cordless? If so, what brand?

Do I wait until the Honda and the weed eater need to be replaced anyway and then hope the offerings from whatever platform I’ve bought into are decent?

I feel I should at least consider the whole line before buying into a platform.

Any other adopters of the cordless outdoor tools here?

Shindawa (Echo) is discontinuing their commercial grade cordless tools for close to Ryobi prices. I have the blower and trimmer and they are great tons of power and good battery life. The company will keep supplying batteries and parts for these toolsyears to come so there is no issues there.

Can't help with cordless tools, but you should weedwack first so all the long clippings get chopped up by the mower, then blow everything off when finished. I hate seeing a fresh cut lawn with long clippings laying around the yard from weedwacking afterwards.

I have the makita blower and trimmer. They are great and am very happy with them. If you want to buy a mower as well I would go with Ego. I like the Makita as I can use my batteries from my power tools.

The Milwaulkee M18 trimmer is awesome. Awesome. It is by far my favorite tool- indoor or outdoor.

It is so good I gave away my 2-cycle Craftsman pro trimmer. My biggest gripe was the hard starting and the leaking when I flip the trimmer to edge.

The bad is the new-style, M18 blower leaves a lot to be desired. Sure it works pretty well for clippings. But for leaves it isn't that great. I need to try it with the high demand battery but I just don't feel that impressed.

I've been using Greenworks 40V and 80V lawn/garden tools for over 5 years; they work great. The 80V blower is awesome! The battery recharges in 30 minutes and with two batteries I don't have much down-time in between.

I moved on from two stroke yard equipment & regret not doing it earlier.

I have the Makita X2 blower & chainsaw & their 18V brushless trimmer - the super light & compact one.

My gut reaction is to tell you to keep your Honda mower & go cordless for other tools.

If you'd prefer to run other tools on the same battery then I recommend Makita. I love the blower & trimmer & am initially impressed with the chainsaw.

If the mower is important to you & you're not worried about tools then I'd look hard at cordless lawnmower reviews & find one that is good & runs the other yard tools you need.

It has been very convenient for us to get away from two stroke yard tools & have the same batteries run my drill, impact, saws, lights & grinders. Heck I even use Makita cordless fans at our cabin & am charging my phone on a Makita battery as I type this.

I have the Makita 36 V blower and string trimmer. They work great and save a bunch of time. I like being able to have the same battery system for all my portable tools.

I have the Ego mower and blower but opted for the DeWalt string trimmer because I needed another DeWalt battery. All of them give good service. But I suggest more landscaping first to reduce grass and trim areas.
