Here's a storage solution I made for my cordless tools, chargers and extra batteries.

It's built into the end of a 24" storage rack that's located in a convenient location in my shop. The power switch for the chargers is on a push button timer so the power doesn't stay on.

All the electrical stuff is in metal boxes with metal conduit, etc.

That's teriffic, I'm jealous. I will admit, I try to buy the same of everything so I only have 1 kind of battery though. I certainly hope the 18v lithium hitatchi is around for a while. I also only buy cordless for things I think are easy and cheap to replace. Drills and impact drivers. I stay away from the cordless jigsaw, hammer drill, circ or recip.

Regardless looks awesome. Way to repurposed those shelving keyholes.

That's cool. I like it.

I might steal your idea--but I need to slightly modify it so I can get the chargers out a little easier. Sometimes I carry a charger somewhere if I think I might use up a couple batteries while doing a job.

I love how you built it into the shelf unit using the slots in the legs. Well done.

"I try to buy the same of everything so I only have 1 kind of battery though. "

I would like to have the same of everything but it just seems impossible. Started with the Craftsman (great value) but moved up to Hitachi (which is great). Keep the craftsman around since I have an 90 degree angle drill that I use only now and then. Got a Ryobi "Rotozip" that's handy so I have that battery. Then someone gave me a Milwaukee set (didn't put that in the case). Then those cool Bosch 12v drivers came out and they are terrific. Also have the bosch heated jacket that uses the same batteries.

90%+ of what I use are the big Hitachi drills and the small Bosch drivers.

Just got a cordless trimmer. The 56V battery and charger are HUGE.

Next up are the brushless drills....... Should I buy those? Are they sufficiently better than the Hitachi 18V lithium units to make a switch?

I don't think it will ever end, always some new technology to try.

Yes I refuse to start to mix and match manufactures, so right now I only do Dewalt. Nice job on the charger center.

Batteries should be built to a standard like AAA, AA, D cell , C cell etc
