Cordless tool what would you do

I have Milwaukee V28 drill, impact and sawzall and one 3/4 good battery between them. The impact has the most use, but as far as can tell, still is fine. The sawzall I got at the same time. I has modrate use, but still looks like new. The drill I bought a year ago, use maybe 10 time. New, never open at the store. I tend to stay away from cordless tools that I know have been sitting around for while, but thought since the batteries warranty starts from the first charge, I'm fine. The drill was about 1 and 1/3 the cost of two new batteries. One battery worked once and the other will only charge 3/4 of the way. Tried and was denied any warranty on the batteries, repeat attemps to talk directly to a Milwaukee rep have gone unanswered. So eight months later I have cooled off, so my question to you. Batteries are $125 a piece best I can fine. Do I sink $500 into new batteries or for basically the same money, just buy new tools? I would think the bare tools are worth **** with the cost of batteries if I tried selling them on CL. Also, are the M28 any good?

If theres a service center locally, take the questionable batteries in and they can do a diagnostic to see if they are faulty. No receipt necessary.

The M28s will fit the v28 tools and seem to be better batteries. Consider the value and condition of the tools for YOUR specific needs vs. the cost of new.

I exchanged a V18 at the warranty center a while ago. The battery was about 2 years old. They do have a tester for these. You need to bring it in fully charged to do the test or they will have to charge it for you. The battery records its first use and the number of charges. I don't see why you had a problem?

I sent three batteries into Milwaukee to be tested. I was offered a 5% credit for one new battery. I asked to talk to rep, never heard from in. Didn't even get my old batteries back.

if this were me, and I got screwed like that. I would never go back and buy more stuff. I would quite simply tell them if you don't want to do right, then I'll go somewhere else. I buy Bosch cordless and like them. I've had Makita in the past and thought they were OK. But now that I'm on the 18V and 12V Bosch, I plan to stay with it. It shouldn't be that hard to make a company correct their mistake.

If you're looking to get out from underneath them you could probably make at least a few bucks on ebay, then jump in on some Christmas deals which are plentiful on powertool sets.
