my co worker told me about this forum, basically our shop finally got a cornwell guy to come by and the prices are pretty low compared to snap on and matco guys that come by already.

However i want to buy a new air hammer but i dont know how cornwells hammers hold up to snap ons.

if anyone has used or owns a CAT4250AHBP air hammer please let me know how it holds up. reliable? powerfull? weight wise stuff like that.

I have this same question I know Chicago pneumatic makes a lot of Cornwells tools that I have bought through Cornwell and so does Ingersoll rand but the Ingersoll rand start with an IR product number and the other Cornwell tools including Chicago pneumatic start with CAT (CORNWELL AIR TOOL). Cornwell has in the flier this week, an actual Ingersoll rand air hammer set, the good max style, (real IR not Cornwell rebranded IR with an IR product code) and a Cornwell air hammer set both on sale around 220. If the Cornwell set which is CAT4250AHK6 is rebranded Chicago Pneumatic obviously the Ingersoll rand IR118MAXK for the same price is the better option, but, they offer a two year warranty on the Cornwell one and only a one year on the Ingersoll rand one. I also can't prove the Cornwell one is Chicago pneumatic it just looks a lot like the same style as other Cornwell air tools I have that I can verify are Chicago pneumatic. Wow that was long and confusing. Anyone follow that with any helpful input/experience?

BTW I work for Volvo diesel in Boston and have always had access to all tool trucks being in such a populated area and no one is missing anything with Cornwell. I buy they're air tools because they are cheapest and all other trucks are way over priced. Most Cornwell tools are cheap rebranded that they market at least. They do have great USA made wrenches and sockets and stuff yes. But that is not the stuff they Actively market or carry on they're trucks so much as rebranded and even non rebranded tools made by other lower quality companies. For example all Cornwell bit sockets are China or Taiwan not even chrome finish and a set of 1/4 and 3/8 drive hex maybe 8 piece is only like $45 list price and really cheap quality wise. I love Cornwell for the things the other trucks are charging an unjustified amount of money on. But you could get the same on amazon. I was kind of let down my first time seeing a Cornwell truck after reading some of the stuff on here. If anyone was wondering..

Wow that's strange the Cornwell 4250 and the IR Max are both on sale through Cornwell for the month of November. But that post doesn't really answer anything. Most of those companies don't make their own air tools. Does anyone know who makes the Cornwell air hammer?
