I am looking at a used version of a Cornwell Tools 60 gal compressor. The model number is ACC6061v. I cannot find any information on the inter webs about it other than it is made by atlas Copco? Can anyone point me to any reviews or info? Anyone have any thoughts about this compressor?

Guy bought it to do some body repair work at his parents house and never hooked it up. I am taking a chance on not hearing it run. I assume I would need to break it in but depending on what paper work he has..... There is a customer support number on the tank.

If it is similar to the links above (the Cornwell link worked for me the first time, but all subsequent times it says that the product no longer exists), it's nothing more than a rebranded Belaire ABAC/American IMC compressor which uses an Italian-made pump (similar to the Harbor Freight compressors sold now). Pretty much a consumer-grade unit (high pump RPM, splash-lubricated).

From the web cache that I was able to find on this model number, it's a 60-gallon 3.5HP (running) single-stage unit. The 'V' at the end indicates a vertical (upright) tank.

What is your intended use? If you plan on using continuous-use air tools (die grinder, sander, sand-blasting, etc), then this compressor will be too small. For intermittent use, it will be fine. How much does he want for it? If it's used, I wouldn't pay more than $300 for it myself (can get brand-new equivalent compressor at box store for $460 with a warranty).

He is asking $500 but I was going to offer less. This thing retails for over a $1k! Is that just marketing hype? One thing I liked was the 12cfm at 100psi.

There is a similar Puma in the area but he is firm on $475. I am always hesitant to buy something like this used.

And if you think that is bad, check the price on the Bel Aire compressor, but painted in Snapon red.

If you're seriously considering this compressor, check out the Harbor Freight item #55394 as well (same pump manufacturer, but you get a two-stage unit). Lots of other threads here discuss this option if you search for it.

I think the Cornwell price is probably more of a suggested selling price, however, with Cornwell, Mac Tools and Snap On, they buy the compressors from the manufacturer, then mark it up to sell to the salesman, and then he has to make some money too, so their pricing tends to be a bit high.
