Does anyone know the manufacturer of these wrenches BPAW17ST, looks very similar to the Capri set but the Capri stops at 1" and the Blue power goes to 1-1/4", thanks.

Or if anyone knows of a similar economical set of 30/60 wrenches besides V8.

Not the most economical, but the 1P-3515 angle wrench set from Caterpillar is about $330. It covers 3/8 through 1-1/4 (excluding 1-3/16) and I think are re-branded Snap-On angle wrenches.

Buy the Cat 3/8-3/4 and 13/16 to 1 1/4 sets separate and you get it a little cheaper. The set on the truck is almost a grand which is ******* ridiculous.

You can also buy select sizes larger than 1 1/4 individually through cat. 1 3/8, 1 1/2, 1 5/8, 1 7/8, 2” and I think 1 3/16 and 1 7/16 as well.

I’ve got (most of) a Klutch set from Northern Tool….been a really good set for $75. Never broke one, but lost a couple to routine tool attrition.

I have the caterpillar set already, added in used SO flank drive plus for under 3/4. Throw in an SO 1-3/16 and I think I have around $600 for
1-1/4 to 3/8

I'm trying to get a set cheap as we have to guys coming from a tech school for the summer and the boss wants to set up a box for each but keep it under $1000 per set. So their getting the US general 26 roller and chest loaded with tekton, abn, pittsburg pro, etc. I had the 15/60 wrenches by ATD and they held up ok but after using the 30/60 I don't think there's any way I could go back.

Definitely sounds like the perfect situation to go with the Tekton sets for the 30/60 and cost.

I bought the tekton set before what I have now and honestly I think they're terrible, especially the bigger sizes. Very heavy, very thick, feel like they were cut from a sheet of steel and rounded off the edges; which is basically how they were made.

So does anyone have an actual real world use opinion of these wrenches?

I decided to check out the Cornwell truck for the 1st time today. I didn't buy anything. But they have a BOGO on their angle wrench sets. It's not a terrible deal for both sets and I'm considering it. Unfortunately, the dealer didn't have any on the truck for me to check out and make my decision today. But he said he will order a set. We'll see.

He also said I'm the only guy to ever ask him about them. I find that a bit hard to believe working at a heavy equipment shop, but who am I.

In the meantime, I'd like to know if anyone have owned and actually used these...

The cornwell deal doesn't look horrible. Do we know the country of origin for the cornwell? I'd be a bit worried about getting replacement wrenches/ warranty. The same wrenches from Tekton are $401 with an easy to get warranty/ replacement wrenches.

Can't you order the cat set pretty easily? If so I'd go with the Cat set, the snapon/ cat angle wrenches are the best wrenches on the market in my opinion, feel great, great quality, the right size, and a good easy to use warranty.

I just replaced my William's 15/60 degree set with snapon off e-bay, 1 wrench at a time. I had bought 1 Tekton just to see if I liked them, it was ok though I wasn't really impressed. I'm at around $800 from 3/8"-1 1/4" and 10-19mm snapon off e-bay.

Yes, the CAT set is what I plan to pick up soon and leaps/bounds cheaper than buying directly from Snap On. Hopefully next pay day I can buy them.

But the reason the Cornwell set got my attention is #1 it includes a metric set and #2 I don't have to pay for it all upfront.

Coworkers had them but no idea on the long term life expectancy. For the cost I would go with CAT. Used to be $225 or so for 13/16 to 1-1/4 and they're Snap On rebrands

They're made in Taiwan. I wouldn't pay truck prices for them. The off shore wrenches seem to spread a lot especially whacking them with a hammer.

It's pretty rare to use metric angle wrenches except on fuel lines

I don't have the price on hand, but color me surprised it's gone up. I looked the other day and for the 14-piece CAT set from 3/8" to 1-1/4" it's somewhere around $425 retail + tax. With my employee discount, it's around $350 + tax.

Again, CAT is my obvious choice for many reasons... But until today I had never heard of the Cornwell set or otherwise knew it even existed. Like Tekton, Capri, Sunex, etc. I'm still researching my options and crossing brands off the already short list.

In the meantime, I need to see what my Matco and MAC guys have or can get.

The only time I've run into the need for a metric angle wrench is on a metso cone crusher. The actual fitting is -4 JIC though if it's a factory hose it has a 15mm hex, if it's been replaced with a hose we've made it's a standard hex.

There's always the buy snapon one at a time off e-bay option.

When did Cornwell start selling improved 30/60 angle wrenches? They use to just have the stupid 15/60.

They are used mainly on hydraulic lines/fittings, at least in my industry.

I don't think I would of ever used them in the automotive world. Which is why I don't own any and I'm in the market for a set. It would make my life/job easier.

Looking through this month's flier earlier and noticed that they are currently on sale... still ouch at that price:1684299215028.png

I posted that earlier as well.
It depends on how you look at it...

Most of the cheap sets are 0*/30* degree angle. Which doesn't make much sense. The good sets are 15*/30* degree.

For a comparison, an equivalent set from Snap On is around $1,000 and they sure as **** are not doing a BOGO.

Oops, missed that.

I'm sure it's less than Snap-on but that doesn't mean a whole lot imho because just about anything would be.

Doing the math, it works out to about 15 USD per wrench which is actually not terrible, just a large investment up front for something that may not see much use (i.e. do you really need all 30 sizes?). Better as a business investment but still a leap of faith for likely Taiwanese wrenches without much in the way of available reviews/feedback.

I'd like the Nepros ones if I were getting some but it would be about the same price just for the metric sizes. I also checked Capri and they would be about 2/3 of the Cornwell sale price albeit with a slightly different size selection. Cornwell could have the advantage for warranty swaps but I kind of doubt most drivers keep these stocked, so YMMV.

My SAE set to 1 1/8" is in a wrench roll. I find it super handy to grab the roll and a bigger dead blow when I go to do hydraulic line to have the whole set on the machine instead of walking back to my tool box when I grabbed the wrong size. Tekton has some nice reasonably priced rolls.

The cheap ones are 15/60, the good ones are 30/60. 15 degrees is the angle of a normal open end wrench.

My rep did have snapon angle wrenches on special. I think it was buy the angle wrenches, get a set of midget wrenches thrown in. They do go on special once in a while.

If you want bigger than 1" Tekton is probably the cheapest/ best budget minded option in 30/60. I have a set of their 1/2" crowsfeet which are made the same way as their angle wrenches. I was tightening and loosening the same 4 1 1/8" head electric motor bolts to 150ftlbs about 10 times a piece last week with a Tekton crows foot, it did the job though wasn't exactly happy doing it and I suspect it's probably spread some. The snapon 1 1/8" angle wrench doubled up didn't complain one bit on the same job.

Here's Tekton's marketing pictures. I have run into situations where the 15/60 just don't cut it.

One thing most of the cheaper/ off brand sets miss out on is they don't go bigger than 3/4" or at the most 1". 7/8" and 1 1/4" are very common wrench sizes for hydraulic lines/ fittings with other sizes thrown in on adapter fittings. The majority of the hydraulic fittings I run into are standard. I can think of 1 time in 3 years I've needed a metric angle wrench.

I have the blue power set at work, they’re decent enough I guess. Definitely fatter than my boss’s snap on set but I needed up to 1 1/4. The metric has come in handy a couple times on airbus helicopters.

The biggest reason a 15/60 is worthless (besides what Tekton's animation clearly shows) is that your standard combination wrenches already have a 15 degree end on them, so you are only gaining one end of the angle wrench over what you already have.
